Issue with EndNote's find full text feature resolved

EndNote's find full text feature uses four methods to search for full text documents: Web of Science Core Collection Full Text Links, DOI (Digital Object Identifier), PubMed LinkOut (U.S. National Library of Medicine), and OpenURL.

There was an issue with one of these methods: OpenURL.

This issue has now been resolved.

This means that you are now more likely to find the full text PDF for a reference using EndNote's find full text feature.

However, if EndNote does not find the full text you can try the following:

  1. Select the reference.
  2. Select the menu option: References > URL > OpenURL Link.
  3. This will open the Source it @ Melbourne page for the reference, which will list any databases the university subscribes to that contain the full text.
  4. If the full text is available, save it to your computer and attach it to the reference.

If you notice any further issues with EndNote please: let us know.

Updated Libraries Australia EndNote connection file

You can use the Online Search feature in EndNote to search and download references from some library catalogues and databases. Connection files tell EndNote how to connect to databases and library catalogues.

Recently there were problems connecting to Libraries Australia via EndNote as the connection file that comes with EndNote is now out-of-date, and the connection was being blocked for users on campus.

These issues have now been resolved. You can download the updated Libraries Australia connection file and find a link to the username and password required to use this connection file at the bottom of the Connection Files webpage.

Problems with using the Online Search feature in Endnote to access the Library catalogue.
